So, here we are in 2012 and I would like to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year!
I have to say that I love the start of a new year. I always feel as though it's a chance to start again with a clean slate - a chance to have another shot at achieving the things I didn't manage to achieve last year.
However, this year I've decided to make slightly different resolutions. Usually I make the same old ones that I'm sure most people make i.e. eating more healthily or getting more exercise or being a better, more tolerant person, etc. etc. This year I've decided to make my resolutions more tangible. I want to be more active where social networking is concerned (Twitter, Facebook and Google+). I want to spend a lot more time working on my blogs (I have to admit that things fell by the wayside last year) and, of course, for those of you who follow this blog you will know that I am in the process of setting up my new paper art business 'Handmade by Yvie' and so a major goal this year is to get that up and running successfully. Of course I still have my other work to do and hobbies to keep up with and so on and I do intend to exercise and eat healthily but this year I really want to achieve things that are important to me rather than make the standard resolutions that people make (and break) every year.
So, that's it for the first post of 2012. I have lots of plans for this blog this year and my intention is that my posting will be more organised and structured. I am also setting myself a blog challenge - more on that in the next blog post - and, as 'Cupcakes and Cadenzas' is 1 year old on the 12th February, I will be having a very exciting competition with a fab prize.
Until the next time,
